Ghana, Nigeria, Philippines, Bosnia, Mexico, India, Vietnam, and America … what do these countries have in common? They are a just a few of the many places our students called home. King of Glory Lutheran School (KGLS) sits in the heart of St. Louis City where immigrants and refugees have settled and continue to settle. Those who chose KGLS for their children were looking for a strong Christian academic program and they found it at King of Glory. Very few other schools in St. Louis have this extraordinary cultural mix that will make learning fascinating and global for the children and their families.

King of Glory’s history is such that we have students who are second, third or more generational Lutherans. Their parents and grandparents attended our schools. Then we have those who are the first in their families to learn English and attend a Christian school. And why do they choose King of Glory? Because we have what they are looking for in today’s world…high quality academics and other school activities centered in Christ.

The founding of King of Glory Lutheran School in 2005 was the result of a yearlong process involving the leaders of the congregations, the pastors, and administrators of the respective schools.

This is a merger of several south St Louis City Lutheran schools: Concordia Elementary School (Trinity and Holy Cross), St. Johns Lutheran School, Messiah Lutheran School, and Concordia Middle School. These four schools and their predecessors have provided Lutheran education to students since 1839, 1848, 1865, 1919, and 1999 respectfully.

King of Glory Lutheran School is located on two campuses with grades two, three and four at 2900 S. Grand and grades Preschool, Kindergarten, first, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth at the corner of Morganford and Chippewa.
