The Academy for Grades 5 – 8 at King of Glory Lutheran School is an educational program that prepares students for college-prep high schools by strengthening academics. The Academy is funded by a grant from Access Academies and is affiliated with the Nativity Miguel Education Model.

From 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM each school day students in The Academy have the option of attending the FREE extended day program. Students will have a snack, receive homework help, participate in a reading time and participate in enrichment activities. During the first quarter we will begin offering an enrichment class once a week.

Then by the end of the school year we plan to offer four classes each week.

Current enrichment classes include chess, yearbook, student council, the YWCA Kids in Motion program, and scrap-booking.

We have plans to add other activities as the year progresses based on parent and student requests and the availability of instructors.

Students in Grades 6 – 8 will complete a project for each quarter. Students in Grade 6 will spend one week at an outdoor camp experience.
